Originally from Washington, DC, by way of Philadelphia, PA, where he was born, Chet Fortune has been performing - singing since he was old enough to talk. He joined his church choir when he was just eight years old and also sang through his elementary, high school and college years in glee clubs, musicals, vocal groups and whenever or wherever else he could sing and make music.

After finishing college, Chet enlisted in the United States Air Force, and did his active service in Japan, where he decided to stay after finishing his tour of duty. He became a member of a band there - "The House Rockers", and toured all over the Orient. While in Japan, Chet also recorded three albums and starred in the Japanese version of the Broadway Musical “Hair".

When he returned to the United States, Chet hooked up with three outstanding vocalists, George Parker, Reginald Ross and Ronee Martin , became a member of the group “Special Delivery", and recorded three albums with them, one of which charted a top ten hit song, “I Destroyed Your Love", featuring Terry Huff

As a writer and producer – Chet, along with Nick Mann and William (Bill) Beard, co-wrote and helped in the production of “The Reddings", an album featuring the sons of the late, incomparable Otis Redding, and their biggest recording “Remote Control" reached the top of the R & B charts. Chet has had his songs performed and recorded by such notables as Special Delivery, Stacie Lattisaw, The Choice Four and The Reddings (Sons & Nephew of the incomparable Otis Redding).

Chet now resides in Japan and writes, records and produces out of his home studio. He performs in and around Tokyo, Japan in restaurants, clubs and concert venues to sold-out audiences.
